The law requires every house and business with an activated security alarm system in unincorporated Harris County to have an alarm permit. Now you can get a new alarm permit or renew your existing alarm permit online. Visit www.hcsoalarmpermit.com.

Alarm permits are required by law any time alarm systems are activated in unincorporated Harris County. Alarm users are encouraged to obtain their permits prior to, or simultaneously with, the installation of their alarm system. One of our objectives is to help you avoid monetary penalties for failing to comply with permit regulations so, we are here to assist you in obtaining your initial permit as well as your renewal permits each subsequent year, on or before your system’s permit anniversary date.

Unfortunately, if you have unpaid fines and/or fees at renewal time you will not be issued a new permit until all outstanding amounts have been paid.

You say you can renew your permit on line. Where is the link to do that? Mine is expired and I just noticed it. I am over 65 so do not pay for it but I need to renew it.

    Thank you.

The link does not work. Can I pay my fine online? Harris County’s website is outdated and difficult to navigate.
